The Parliament Project and YWCA Scotland – The Young Women’s Movement are hosting a networking and vision-building event to celebrate Scottish Suffragettes and to plan how to bring about gender equality in politics in the next 5 years. We want to bring together 100 self-identifying women and girls (aged 16-106) to make a plan of action to raise the numbers of women (of all ages) to take their place in our Parliaments and local and community councils across the country. The plan will be set in an ambitiously short period of time (2018-2022) because we don’t want to wait another 100 years to see the reality of gender equality in politics and the difference that will make to our society.
Places will be allocated on first come, first served basis and we would like to include women from all parts of society in Scotland. Book here. We would love organisations to bring groups of women so please email Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how many spaces you would like. We have small bursaries to help with travel and childcare costs and Hannah can discuss these with you.
This event is funded by The Scottish Government Vote Centenary Grant Scheme
